Mozart meets improv in Impropera, a fully improvised opera performance featuring spontaneous storytelling, music, and vocal brilliance. No two shows are alike—come experience opera like you’ve never seen it before.
May 30 & June 1: Consonance – Chicago Choral Artists
Drawing on myths and writings from different cultures, Juhi Bansal’s cantata for SATB chorus, percussion, harp, and soloists celebrates the wonders of the night sky. Additional works by Marybeth Kurnat and Dan Forrest will be featured in the program.
June 1 – June 30: Singing Pride Month Calendar
Celebrate this year’s Pride Month with The Maidans! They will be sharing love songs on social media celebrating queer love and the LGBTQ+ community. Have a request? Let them know on social media!
June 28 & 29: Considering Matthew Shepard
Marie will join The Quire–a not for profit chorus for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons–as a guest artist singing all soprano solos as they perform the exquisite work “Considering Matthew Shepard”.
October 10: QueerPOPERA
Marie will join queerPOPERA for a unique concert celebrating the powerful voices of LGBTQIA+ opera singers from across the Midwest! Gathering at the historic Steyer Opera House, this family-friendly event will feature stunning renditions of opera classics and contemporary interpretations, all infused with the spirit of belonging, inclusion, and pride.
